DUFFY
ALEX DUFFY
(Alex) Duffy has spent over sixteen years leading complex creative work across Australia and around the world. His background spans large-scale theatre, global touring, broadcast projects, conferences, creative development and full production delivery. Across all of it, he has built a reputation for calm leadership, sharp judgement and the ability to run high-pressure environments with clarity and confidence.
He began his career in stage management on Wicked, Hot Shoe Shuffle and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels across Australia, Singapore and South Korea. That early work gave him deep on-the-floor experience, strong technical understanding and the instinct to keep fast-moving teams steady. He then joined Michael Cassel Group for Les Misérables, Kinky Boots and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, as well as major events including the Helpmann Awards, Darren Criss’s Australian tour and special projects such as Not Now, Not Ever with Julia Gillard.
From 2018, he served as Production Stage Manager for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child across Melbourne, Tokyo and Hamburg, working on both the two-part and one-part productions. Guiding long-running international companies, managing complex technical systems and supporting creative teams taught him how to balance structure with creativity and how to keep large ensembles aligned through constant change.
During his time as Senior Producer at the University of Melbourne, he delivered conferences, forums and high-level engagement events across multiple faculties. This included managing speakers, schedules, audience flow, production design and stakeholder coordination, strengthening his ability to combine clear logistics with creative thinking in academic and corporate settings.
His recent creative work includes A (Very) Musical Christmas, In The Heights and The Addams Family at Teatro at the Italian Forum. Across these projects, he became known for mapping out decisions cleanly, communicating with precision and leading teams through tight schedules while keeping the environment supportive and focused.
Today, he works internationally as Associate Producer with Our Legacy Creations on major projects including House of Dancing Water in Macau and OLC’s New Year’s Eve Spectacular in Dubai. He also serves as Industry Partnerships & Alumni Manager at NIDA.
Duffy is trusted for his steadiness, organisation and people-first approach. He listens closely, plans with intent and delivers with care. Clients and collaborators know he will keep the work grounded, the team supported and the outcome strong from first conversation to final delivery.
